The Truth
Jake, for his entire life, lived in total seclusion. Every thing he learned, they told him. They kept him safe from the outside world, they said. People outside would hurt him; they told him when he asked if he could go out side. He stayed in the building, mostly in his small room that had only the things he needed. His white bed, with a gray blanket, that seemed to be as old as time itself and a dresser that held his clothes. Every day when the he heard the high pitched ring he had to tell one of them that he heard it, and then it was time for them to learn about him. He didn't know why they wanted to know more about him.
